Sony Pictures has finally released their first trailer for their spin-off film Men In Black: International starring Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson, Emma Thompson, Liam Neeson, Kumail Nanjiani, and Rebecca Ferguson. Some shots and the inclusion of Emma Thompson’s Men In Black 3 character seemingly debunks any talk of this being a hard-reboot.
The Men in Black have always protected the Earth from the scum of the universe. In this new adventure, they tackle their biggest, most global threat to date: a mole in the Men in Black organization.
While the official synopsis doesn’t reveal a murder mystery plot as I previously reported on the characters 100% match my original description. The trailer does confirm the character details I originally mentioned and cements that this film is indeed a spin-off, not a reboot.
New recruit Em played by Tessa Thompson will try to prove herself by joining the London MIB and is paired with the former ace Agent H, played by Hemsworth. The pair becomes involved in a murder mystery that has them traveling the globe.
We also get our first glimpse of Kumail Nanjiani as his alien character Pawny.
The film also has Wade Eastwood, the stunt coordinator of Mission: Impossible – Fallout and I’m expecting some seriously impressive action sequences.
Sony Pictures has given Men In Black: International a release date of June 14th, 2019.
