We’ve been fascinated about the next Robert Eggers film, the writer/director behind The Witch and The Lighthouse. His next feature film titled The Northman will be a Viking revenge film set during the 10th century in Iceland.

It looks like set construction is already taking place in Northern Ireland.

The BelfastTelegraph claims that construction on a film set for Robert Eggers’ violent Viking thriller has been spotted in the seaside town of Torr Head in County Antrim, not too far from the stages of Belfast Harbour Studios where the film is expected to shoot as well.

You can see the photos they’ve posted of the village set construction here

They also add that filming in Northern Ireland will take place over 19 weeks.

Cinematographer Jarin Blaschke is set to reunite with Robert after the two previously worked together on The Witch and The Lighthouse, Jarin recently confirming to HN Entertainment they’re about 10 weeks into prep on the film.

Here’s a rundown of the cast assembled for the film so far.

  • Anya Taylor-Joy (The New Mutants, The Witch, Last Night In Soho)
  • Nicole Kidman (The Others, Destroyer, Bombshell, Big Little Lies, Stoker)
  • Alexander Skarsgard (Generation Kill, The Stand, The Little Drummer Girl)
  • Bill Skarsgard (Atomic Blonde, Castle Rock, IT, IT: Chapter Two)
  • Willem Dafoe (The Lighthouse, Nightmare Alley, John Wick)
