Filming on the Men In Black spin-off officially titled Men In Black International took place over the summer with Thor: Ragnarok co-stars Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson reuniting as the film’s leads. We are now in full promotional mode as Sony via Chris Hemsworth’s Twitter account has released the first official still from the movie.
A trailer is also coming soon.
I previously posted an early synopsis for Men In Black International at OmegaUnderground months back as the spin-off film will be a global murder mystery of sorts.
New recruit Em played by Tessa Thompson will try to prove herself by joining the London MIB and is paired with the former ace Agent H, played by Hemsworth. The pair becomes involved in a murder mystery that has them traveling the globe.
Men In Black 3’s Emma Thompson will be returning that will seemingly connect this film to the original trilogy and is expected to see a cameo of sorts from the New York City branch of the MIB as they spent some time filming in NYC during the shoot. It remains to be seen if Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones will be showing up in cameos. At the very least, International leaves the door open for them to return at some point.
The action sequences should be off-the-hook as they hired Wade Eastwood, the stunt coordinator of Mission: Impossible – Fallout.
The rest of the cast assembled by director F. Gary Gray includes Liam Neeson, Kumail Nanjiani, Rebecca Ferguson, and Rafe Spall.
A trailer was recently shown at CCXP 2019 and could eventually be released online by Sony Pictures in the next couple of weeks.
Sony Pictures has set the release date for Men In Black International on June 14th, 2019.
