Actor Tom Hardy has taken to his official Instagram account to post what looks to be an on-set image of co-star Woody Harrelson in character as the violent mass murderer Cletus Kasady, who will eventually become the supervillain known as Carnage.
You can see Woody wearing his red wig and a bright pattern shirt, which would suggest he’s out of prison. This picture of Kasady potentially on the outside of prison would connect to our recently reported details on the film.
Oddly enough, for whatever reason (I assume Sony is involved), a couple of minutes or hours after posting Venom 2 images the actor has been simply deleting them.
Venom 2 is directed by Andy Serkis, who is also playing Alfred Pennyworth in Matt Reeves new Batman movie which happened be also shooting at the same stage facility in England.
Hardy recently posted other pics that seemed to celebrate the British leg of the production as they’re expected to do some exterior shots in San Francisco, California at some point.
The full cast includes Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock aka Venom, Michelle Williams as Anne Weying aka She-Venom, Woody Harrelson as Cletus Kasady aka Carnage, Naomie Harris as Frances Barrison aka Skriek, and The Irishman’s Stephen Graham in an undisclosed role.
HN Entertainment exclusively posted plot details not too long ago about how Cletus Kasady and Frances Barrison aka Shriek will factor into the film.
The recent Morbius trailer tied the film directly to Spider-Man: Homecoming with Michael Keaton’s Vulture showing up at the end. This could suggest that Venom 2 might also have some crossover potential with the main Spider-Man films as well.
There had been a rumor that Tom Holland could appear in Venom 2, but that has yet to be confirmed or backed-up.
Other movies in the works set in the Spider-Man universe include Kraven The Hunter, Madame Webb, Silk, Black Cat, Silver Sable, Nightwatch, Jackpot, at one point Sinister Six, and most recently a rumored Spider-Woman film potentially led by Jessica Drew.
Sony Pictures has given Morbius a release date of July 31st and Venom 2 will out in theaters on October 2nd.
