Yesterday, Fast & Furious 9 director Justin Lin (Star Trek Beyond) took to his official Twitter account to announce that the 9th installment has officially wrapped filming.
Revealing that the ambitious production shot with Panavision cameras took place in London, Edinburgh, Tbilisi (Georgia), Los Angeles, and Phuket/Krabi, Thailand.
It’s an official #F9 Wrap! This is by far the most ambitious film of the series and I am forever grateful to our amazing crew from London, Edinburgh, Tbilisi (Georgia), Phuket & Krabi (Thailand), and Los Angeles. pic.twitter.com/ggFGxwHuz7

Vin Diesel recently revealed on Instagram that rapper Cardi B (The Hustlers) had joined the film as well.
The rest of the cast includes Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, John Cena, Helen Mirren, Charlize Theron, Michael Rooker, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jordan Brewster, Finn Cole, Anna Sawai, and Vinnie Bennett.
We’ll keep our fingers crossed that they’ll be heading into outer space.
Vin, Tyrese, and Cena have a bunch of comic book movies coming out in the next little while with Sony’s Bloodshot (February 21st, 2020), Spider-Man spinoff Morbius (July 31st, 2020), and James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad (August 6th, 2021) respectively.
Lin is expected to also direct Fast & Furious 10, where Dwayne Johnson has suggested will be when he returns to the main films.
However, we wouldn’t rule out a cameo from Johnson.
The studio is said to be moving forward with sequels to Johnson/Statham’s Hobbs & Shaw along with an all-female spinoff in the works.
Universal Pictures has set the release date of Fast & Furious 9 for May 22nd, 2020.
