The standalone Flash film has had tons of trouble lifting off the ground. Now, thanks to a new report it could be all or nothing for the star of the film Ezra Miller.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Miller will work on and turn in his own draft of the script with the assistance of acclaimed comic author Grant Morrison, Miller’s script is expected to be a darker take on the project.

Miller has reportedly clashed with directors John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein on their script as they are wanting to go a more light-hearted comedic route with the project, and apparently thanks to the success of Aquaman and the buzz surrounding Shazam!, Warner Bros. is also in favor of Daley and Goldstein’s vision.

Miller is said to be highly committed to the character and willing to take on a more creative initiative in order to get the film made. His Flash script is currently on track to be submitted sometime within the next week.

Lastly, If the studio chooses to skip over the Miller and Morrison’s script in favor of one from The Flash directors John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, it’s said that Miller could exit the role of Barry Allen.

Warner Bros. is hoping to get production on The Flash started this November. With this drama ongoing and Miller’s unknown schedule with Fantastic Beasts 3, it would come as no surprise if he exits the film, and personally, i would welcome it as the DCEU seems to going in a new direction. But as of now, Ezra Miller and Kiersey Clemons are still attached to star. The film is expected to release sometime in 2021.
