Last month, Variety reported that Yvonne Strahovski (Chuck, The Handmaid’s Tale, The Predator) was in negotiations to star opposite Chris Pratt (Jurassic World, Guardians of The Galaxy, Avengers: Infinity War) in the science fiction war movie Ghost Draft directed by Chris McKay (The Lego Batman Movie) at Skydance/Paramount.
Strahovski will play a character Pratt meets in the future who has a connection to his past.
HN Entertainment has learned that Yvonne has closed her deal for the project as filming is set to kick-off next month in Georgia.
A man is drafted to fight in a future war where the fate of humanity relies on his ability to confront his past.
Ghost Draft is set to begin production on September 18th in Atlanta, Georgia with wrap date of October 30th. With filming expected to move on to other locations afterward.
We previously reported that the film’s crew will include Mission: Impossible – Fallout production designer Peter Wenham and Pulp Fiction costume designer Betsy Heimann.
More casting announcements are expected to be made in the coming weeks.
HN first reported back in May that Paramount Pictures would distribute the film, but the studio has yet to give Ghost Draft an official release date.
There is also word that Paramount Pictures will end up distributing the science fiction war film, after the original casting report from Deadline announcing Chris Pratt’s involvement didn’t mention Paramount’s participation on the film.
