Netflix recently announced that production is well underway on the second season of their cyberpunk series Altered Carbon, along with revealing the new cast members.
HN Entertainment has been able to confirm that Vikings director Ciaran Donnelly will be working on the Netflix series.
Filming is taking place in Vancouver and will complete on in late June (there is an expectation some of the production will take place in the UK).
The new cast members include Anthony Mackie (Captain America: Civil War, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Hurt Locker) Takeshi Kovacs previously played by Joel Kinnaman, Simone Missick (Iron Fist, The Defenders, Luke Cage) as Trepp, Dina Shihabi as Dig 301, Torben Liebrecht as Colonel Ivan Carrera, James Saito as Tanaseda Hideki, Renee Elise Goldsberry as Quellcrist Falconer, and Chris Conner as Poe.
Director MJ Bassett (Ash vs The Evil Dead, Strike Back) also confirmed involvement on the second season of the series last month via Instagram.
Altered Carbon is set in the 25th century when the human mind has been digitized and the soul itself is transferable from one body to the next. Takeshi Kovacs, a former elite interstellar warrior known as an Envoy who has been imprisoned for 250 years, is downloaded into a future he’d tried to stop.
