Two More Character Breakdowns For Jason Reitman’s ‘Ghostbusters’ Movie

Last month, we revealed an audition tape for Jason Reitman’s new Ghostbusters movie aka Rust City that confirmed one of our previous character breakdowns for two of the new kid roles in the film (there will be four lead roles for the kids).

Well, HN Entertainment has now obtained the character breakdowns for the two other young roles they’ll be casting.

UNNAMED (LEAD BOY 2) To play 12 years old. Slender, pale, dark hair, piercing blue eyes, aquiline features, high cheekbones, withdrawn. He’s prodigious — bright, witty, stubborn, and remains playful in spite of hardship. He is also a brilliantly quick thinker under pressure, is at ease with technology, and has a high facility for problem-solving.

UNNAMED (LEAD GIRL 2): To play 13 years old. Fun-loving, a bit of an airhead.  Always curious, haunted, charmed, dazed.

This is also a brief synopsis for the film which doesn’t really tell us too much about the film’s plot. The film is said to be set directly in the cinematic universe of the original two films, unlike Paul Feig’s reboot could allow original characters to appear in some capacity.

A family moves back home to a small town where they learn more about who they are and the secrets of the town itself.

Here are the previous two kid role descriptions we posted last month.

Sony and Jason Reitman are also currently casting two of the young leads which include the roles a 13-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl. The unnamed teenage boy character is described as a conspiracy theorist that is really into fantasy. The pre-teen girl certainly sounds like a Jason Reitman character, for sure, a science kid that has trouble connecting with others on an emotional level, understanding feelings and not be aware how hurtful her comments can be.

Interesting enough, Jason himself appeared in Ghostbusters 2 as a child as his father Ivan Reitman directed the first two installments. Jason co-wrote the film’s screenplay with Monster House director Gil Kenan.

A recent production rumbling from our friends at DiscussingFilm suggests that filming on Ghostbusters could begin as early as May 13th.

Sony Pictures has given Ghostbusters a release date of July 10th, 2020.
