HN Entertainment can exclusively reveal that Oscar-winner Russell Crowe (A Beautiful Mind, Gladiator) will be starring in the upcoming Miramax film Georgetown Project.
The film will be directed by Joshua John Miller and Mark A. Fortin, who wrote the 2015 horror film Final Girls and developed the USA Network series Queen of The South.
Joshua got his start in Hollywood as a child actor playing roles such as Homer in Kathryn Bigelow’s fantastic vampire flick Near Dark and Willie Challis in Halloween III: Season of The Witch.
They’ve also hired It Follows and Under The Silver Lake production designer Matthew Perry to join the production team.
Details on the project are scarce at the moment but I wouldn’t be shocked if it was a thriller or horror given the filmmakers’ previous work.
Russell Crowe’s most recent studio projects include Shane Black’s The Nice Guys opposite Ryan Gosling and taking the role of Henry Jeykll in Universal’s Mummy reboot.
Other projects from Russell’s lengthly acting career include L.A. Confidential, Man of Steel, Robin Hood, Gladiator, The Insider, American Gangster, 3:10 to Yuma, Les Miserables, Body of Lies, and Noah.
We currently don’t have release or production dates for the Georgetown Project.
HN will certainly update when we get more details on the film.
