HN Entertainment has been able to exclusively confirm that Neill Blomkamp is going to be writing and directing his next feature film titled Inferno for Miramax.
Neill is likely best known as a science fiction genre director tackling projects such as District 9, Elysium, and Chappie.
When Neill announced his exit on RoboCop Returns back in August, he revealed his next film would be a horror/thriller.
Off Robocop. I am shooting new horror/thriller and MGM can’t wait/ need to shoot Robocop now. Excited to watch it in theaters with other fans. N

It remains to be seen if the title might be a tease to an adaption of Neill’s short film Firebase.
Blomkamp has had some hiccups over the last little while trying to get Alien 5, Greenland, and RoboCop Returns made. The latter two are seemingly still moving forward without Neill as Alien 5 is seemingly stuck in development hell (until Disney decides to resurrect it).
We’re happy and excited whenever Neill decides to jump onto a project and can’t wait to learn more about this one.
When plot details and production information surface for Inferno we’ll certainly update.
