HN Entertainment has been able to confirm that longtime Game of Thrones costume designer Michele Clapton has joined the Netflix animated film Jacob and The Sea Beast.
Her latest feature film was Matthew Vaughn’s Kingsman prequel titled The King’s Man.
The project is from Big Hero 6 and Moana director Chris Williams, who will write and direct the animated flick that is loosely inspired by the sea creatures from vintage nautical maps.
Chris as a writer worked on Disney’s Mulan, Moana, Bolt, and The Emperor’s New Groove.
The touching tale of ancient hunters who struggle to capture a beautiful, mythical sea creature on the high seas. It focuses on a charming seafarer who sails into uncharted waters and discovers an unlikely ally in a sea monster.
It sounds a bit like a nautical version of How To Train Your Dragon, but I assume will be slightly different from that concept.
This marks yet another interesting animated project at Netflix with Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio adaptation being another one we’re keeping an eye on.
