Production is underway on Jared Leto’s Spider-Man spin-off feature film Morbius in London and we have an idea where production is mainly taking place. HN Entertainment has been able to confirm that the main stage space for Morbius is at Pinewood Studios UK in Buckinghamshire, England (just outside of London).
Dr. Michael Morbius is a chemist that is looking to cure himself of a rare blood disease and in the process of his experiments accidentally turns himself into a living vampire that feasts on human plasma. In various incarnations, vampires like Morbius were created by technology and not by supernatural means.
The cast currently consists of Oscar-winner Jared Leto as Dr. Michael Morbius, Matt Smith (Doctor Who, Last Night Soho) as fellow vampire villain L, Adria Arjona (Triple Frontier) as Morbius’ love interest and future villain Martine Bancroft, Tyrese Gibson (Fast and Furious franchise) as an FBI Agent, and Jared Harris (Benjamin Button, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, Mad Men) as Morbius’ mentor.
Production is expected to wrap-up sometime in May.
Morbius is one of many Spider-Man movies that Sony Pictures is developing as they also have Venom 2, Kraven The Hunter, Black Cat, Silver Sable, Silk, Jackpot, and Nightwatch in various stages at the studio.
Sony Pictures has given Morbius an official release date of July 31st, 2020 after that spot was vacated by Marvel Studios for an untitled MCU movie.
