HN Entertainment has exclusively confirmed that I Am Mother cinematographer Steve Annis has been hired for Apple TV+’s ambitious science-fiction series Foundation.
Yesterday, DiscussingFilm revealed that Ghost In The Shell director Rupert Sanders is in talks to direct the science fiction series Foundation for Apple TV+.
We have learned that Rupert Sanders is currently in talks to direct an undisclosed amount of episodes in the straight-to-series adaption of ‘Foundation’ for Apple TV+.
‘Foundation’ follows the story from the novels by Isaac Asimov which follows the complex saga of humans scattered on planets throughout the galaxy, all living under the rule of the Galactic Empire. Production will begin in early November in Prague, Czech Republic and Ireland.
We can confirm/back up their reporting that Rupert Sanders will indeed be directing episodes on the series. We can add that he has officially signed-on to the project and is no longer in talks for it.
The project had a bit of hiccup when original co-showrunner Josh Friedman exited Foundation back in April and left the project entirely in the hands of David Goyer.
Hopefully, Goyer has been able to manage on his own.
I Am Mother was a fantastic looking film and Rupert Sanders is known for his slick visuals as Ghost In The Shell was easily the best looking film of 2017, despite the adaptation’s quality missing the mark by a mile.
Weta Workshop and Weta Digital worked on both their previous projects, but it’s unknown if they’ll be involved with Foundation. Weta is no stranger to streaming series as they worked on Netflix’s Altered Carbon.
