The other day HN Entertainment revealed that Rush actress Alexandra Maria Lara has joined the cast of Matthew Vaughn’s prequel comic book film Kingsman: The Great Game, we also have another name to share that has also joined the Fox action flick.
We can exclusively report that the Swiss-Israeli actor Joel Basman has joined the film too.
Basman’s credits include Hanna (worked alongside Tom Hollander), Papillon, Land of Mine, Bye Bye Germany and Homeland.
The rest of Kingsman: The Great Game’s cast that includes Ralph Fiennes, Harris Dickinson, Gemma Arterton, Daniel Bruhl, Charles Dance, Stanley Tucci, Aaron Johnson, Djimon Hounsou, Matthew Goode, and Tom Hollander.
Set after the events of WWI, the film acts a prequel to the origins of the formation of the first wave of Kingsman agents and explains why the organization came to be.
We previously reported on the film’s impressive production team that includes cinematographer Ben Davis (Layer Cake, Guardians of The Galaxy, Captain Marvel), production designer Darren Gilford (Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Tron: Legacy), supervising art director Doug Meerdink (Kong: Skull Island, Jurassic World), stunt coordinator Bradley James Allan (Wonder Woman, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Solo: A Star Wars Story), and costume designer Michele Clapton (Game of Thrones, The Crown).
Disney’s Bob Iger and Alan Horn have both made it clear they want to continue the Kingsman franchise beyond The Great Game, as Matthew Vaughn is still planning a third film starring Taron Egerton. He also has talked about developing Statesman spinoff film and potentially a television series/miniseries as well.
20th Century Fox has set the film’s release date for February 14th, 2020, which will see The Great Game come out a week after Margot Robbie’s DC Comics film Birds of Prey.
