It was just announced today that Fox’s Mouse Guard movie is finally going into production this May with Andy Serkis (Black Panther, Lord of The Rings, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Planet of The Apes), Thomas Brodie-Sangster (Game of Thrones), and Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad, The Mandalorian) taking lead roles in the movie directed by Wes Ball.

Mouse Guard is a set in a medieval world and tells of an order of mice who are the sworn protectors of their realm. Enemies range from predators such as foxes and eagles to other rodents.

HN Entertainment has now learned that composer John Paesano (Daredevil, Maze Runner, The Defenders) and costume designer Mayes Rubeo (Avatar, Thor: Ragnarok, Jojo Rabbit, John Carter) have joined the film’s growing production team.

We previously revealed the film will have Daniel Dorrance as the production designer.

Weta Digital will also be handling the film’s massive amount of visual effects as it will be a mix of live-action and motion capture. The film’s budget is reportedly around $150 million and will likely need that sizable budget.

It’ll be interesting to see the scale of the film and who else ends up joining the cast.

20th Century Fox has yet to give Mouse Guard an official release date.
