HN Entertainment has been able to confirm that Marvel Studios has hired Raymond Chan as the production designer on Falcon and Winter Soldier, their upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe streaming series for Disney+.
Chan was previously the supervising art director on Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, Doctor Strange, Thor: The Dark World, Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Guardians of The Galaxy.
Falcon and Winter Soldier will be directed by Kari Skogland (The Handmaid’s Tale) and written by Malcolm Spellman (Empire).
The cast consists of existing MCU actors Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Daniel Bruhl as Zemo, and Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter.
Kevin Feige had previously announced that the Disney+ shows will indeed be canonical to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and will have a direct impact on it.
After the events of Avengers: Endgame, Sam has been given the Captain America mantle and Anthony Mackie has said he was interested in exploring that transition/origin in another format before making the jump in the movies.
“What I didn’t want for me to get the shield from Cap and then the next movie I show up and you just see me in some pimped-out suit with a shield.”
“What happened between that?”
“That’s why I’m so interested in seeing how do we build that to the next film. “
“What you don’t want to do is an origin film.”
Filming will begin this October according to star Sebastian Stan.
“We’re going to start in October.”
Other Disney+ Marvel shows on the horizon include Loki, WandaVision, and a Hawkeye series featuring Kate Bishop.
