Last July, Deadline reported that Colin Farrell (The Lobster) and Mel Gibson (Dragged Across Concrete) had signed-on for roles in the post-WWII action flick War Pigs from Millennium Films with filming reportedly to begin last October.
A retired marine’s brother is killed by a multi-national drug cartel and decides to wage war against the cartel to avenge his brother with the help of fellow ex-soldiers who served during WWII.
Production didn’t take place in the fall but it looks like things are back on track.
HN Entertainment has exclusively learned that director Brad Furman (The Infiltrator, The Lincoln Lawyer) is now expected to replace Norwegian director Tommy Wirkola on the film.
Also, we’ve learned that Orlando Bloom and Jamie Foxx are expected to join the cast.
Production is taking place in Bucharest, Romania, and the United Kingdom.
Filming had been previously eyeing a shoot at Nu Boyana Film Studios in Sofia, Bulgaria.
A release date for War Pigs has yet to be announced.
