HN Entertainment has been able to confirm that rising young actress Chloe Coleman has nabbed the leading role of Emily in the female-driven assassin action flick Gunpowder Milkshake starring opposite Karen Gillan (Doctor Who, Avengers: Endgame, Guardians of The Galaxy) and Lena Headey (Dredd, Game of Thrones).
A young woman and her estranged mother that are both assassins must join forces on the run to take down a male-dominated crime syndicate they used to work for.
An assassin named Eva (Gillan) defies Nathan, her boss at The Firm, to rescue a young hostage named Emily (Coleman) from the Korean Mob. Scarlet (Headey), a fellow assassin and the mother of Eva, who had to give up her young daughter when she herself got into trouble. Helps her daughter and young cohort avoid capture or death.
Coleman is best known for the HBO series Big Little Lies. She also has roles in James Cameron’s Avatar 2 and co-stars with Dave Baustisa in the upcoming comedy My Spy.
HN Entertainment previous revealed exclusive/characters plot details and we were the first to reveal that Lena Headey would join the action film.
It will be directed by Aharon Keshales and Navot Papushado, the Israeli directing duo behind the foreign language revenge thriller Big Bad Wolves, a favorite of Quentin Tarantino.
The cast includes Karen Gillan, Lena Headey, Paul Giamatti, Michelle Yeoh, Angela Bassett, and Carla Gugino.
Gunpowder’s production team includes production designer David Scheunemann (Deadpool 2, Atomic Blonde, Hobbs and Shaw), stunt coordinator Laurent Demianoff (Lucy, Taken 3, Valerian), and costume designer Louise Frogley (Spider-Man: Far From Home, Quantum of Solace, Iron Man 3, Ant-Man and The Wasp)
Filming begins on Monday at Studio Babelsberg in Berlin, Germany and will wrap on August 8th.
A release date for Gunpowder Milkshake has yet to be announced.
