HN Entertainment has exclusively learned that veteran television director Tucker Gates will be directing an unknown amount of episodes of the CBS All Access streaming series The Stand, based on the novel by Stephen King.
Tucker’s extensive credits over the years include Homeland, Ray Donovan, Lost, House of Cards, The Office, Alias, Weeds, The Sinner, Bates Motel, The Good Place, and Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
The Stand takes place in a post-apocalyptic world triggered by the breakdown of society following the release of a biological weapon. The weapon is a virulent strain of influenza that decimates the population.
Josh Boone (The New Mutants) is also directing on the series and adapted the novel for the show as the showrunner/writer.
Filming has been underway in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
The Stand’s cast consists of James Marsden (Westworld) as Stu Redman, Amber Heard (Aquaman) Nadine Cross, Alexander Skarsgard (Little Drummer Girl) as Randall Flagg, Whoopi Goldberg (Ghost) as Mother Abagail, Greg Kinnear (The Gift) as Glen Bateman, and musician Marylin Manson reported to be in an undisclosed role.
It’ll likely be ready to drop on CBS All Access in late 2020.
