This is some scary news.
TheSun is reporting that a bomb was discovered on the set of Marvel’s Eternals, which is currently filming on the Spanish Canary Island of Fuerteventura. Cast and crew were evacuated from the area as a bomb disposal team was called in to deal with the ordinance.
They say that the unexploded bomb was likely from a Nazi-base that used the island during the Second World War. Considering the age of the bomb it was better to be safe and evacuate everyone as it could have been either a dud or live.
Luckily, it sounds like everyone is safe and nobody was harmed.
Fuerteventura has been a location previously used on multiple seasons of HBO’s Game of Thrones and other superhero films like Wonder Woman 1984.
Marvel had been using the area to double for ancient Babylon as Eternals will take place in various eras in human history.
Chloe Zhao is behind the camera as the comic book film’s director.
The Eternals are a race of immortal aliens sent to Earth by the Celestials to save humankind from the Deviants.
The cast/character lineup looks like this.
- Gemma Chan as Sersi
- Kit Harington as Black Knight
- Barry Keoghan as Druig
- Richard Madden as Ikaris
- Angelina Jolie as Thena
- Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo
- Lauren Ridloff as Makkari
- Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos
- Salma Hayek as Ajak
- Lia McHugh as Sprite
- Don Lee as Gilgamesh
Filming had been previously taking place at Pinewood Studios UK in England.
Eternals is set for release on November 6th, 2020.
