TheDailyMail is reporting that recent Emmy-winner Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag, Killing Eve) after doing on set rewrites for No Time To Die script is now being courted by producers to move forward with the Bond 26 script.
The news comes from Bond scooper Baz Bambigboye, who has been mostly accurate with his franchise reporting over the years and is quite reliable.
Phoebe Waller-Bridge is being licensed to work on a future James Bond film.
The award-winning writer and actress is being wooed to contribute to the script for Bond 26, which is still years away.
Phoebe recently locked-down an overall deal with Amazon Studios for multiple streaming projects after giving them massive success with her series Fleabag.
Daniel Craig’s era as James Bond is said to be ending with No Time To Die and that Bond 26 will recast the role with a new actor. There is also a chance Bond 26 will be a complete reboot of the character similar to Martin Campbell’s Casino Royale.
The report is clear to remind us that Bond 26 is years away but starting the development process early might help attract the new actor/director before they start to seek them out.
This current installment has had plenty of scripting woes as they are attempting to alter/fix scenes during the production shoot and making sure they have a clear outline/first draft to start with is a really good idea.
No Time To Die is set to be released on April 8th, 2020.
“Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.”
