‘Elf’ Director Jon Favreau Teases Interest In A New ‘Star Wars Holiday Special’ On Disney+

The Mandalorian showrunner and producer Jon Favreau has just teased during a quick chat at The Saturn Awards with EntertainmentTonight that he would be interested in making a new Star Wars Holiday Special on Disney+.

FAVREAU: “I would love to do someday, maybe on Disney+, we’ll do a holiday special. Wouldn’t that be wonderful? I gotta pitch that to them. We’ll see.”

“[Looking at the camera directed to audience] If you want to see a Holiday Special, let Disney+ know.”

Favreau other than being behind mega-successes such as Iron Man, The Jungle Book, and The Lion King also worked on the newly beloved holiday film Elf starring Will Farrell.

I think would be certainly interesting and a chance at redemption as the original Holiday Special was a complete disaster, it would be one way to add more Star Wars content to Disney+ without doing an entire series.

Jon is going to be busy as he’s currently working on the second season of The Mandalorian.

The special was also the first appearance of Boba Fett in the Star Wars universe.

The Mandalorian begin to air on Disney+ starting on November 12th.
