Walt Disney Studios has finally dropped a trailer to their highly anticipated sequel to 2013’s Frozen, titled Frozen II. We don’t get too much of in the way of a plot as it seemingly is simply teasing some of the film’s visuals and a new female character.
Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, and Olaf are going far in the forest to learn the truth about an ancient mystery of their kingdom.
The animation and colors seem a lot more crisp/vibrant than the original in certain shots, which is expected as tool and textures are upgraded since the last installment. Not unlike the difference between the Pixar sequels and their original counterparts.
From the Academy Award®-winning team—directors Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, and producer Peter Del Vecho—and featuring the voices of Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, Jonathan Groff and Josh Gad, and the music of Oscar®-winning songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Frozen 2” opens in U.S. theaters on Nov. 22, 2019.
The original Frozen had an impressive run at the global box office earning a massive $1.2 billion worldwide, considering it was an original animated project from Walt Disney Animation Studios and not the more financially successful Pixar. It’s merchandise and licensing also made Disney a mint as well, as the album was easily a kid favorite surrounding the last couple of years. As the film was certainly more geared to a younger audience and you don’t often see animated films that speak to young female audiences either, Disney capitalizing on that demographic to fantastic results.
New additions to the cast include Westworld’s Evan Rachel Wood and Black Panther’s Sterling K. Brown.
Frozen 2 is set for release on November 22nd.
