Back in September, The Walt Disney Company and Marvel Studios launched their Oscar campaign for Black Panther, pushing the film in all major awards categories. Now the company is getting ready to make the same push for Avengers: Infinity War.
The studio’s launching a ‘For Your Consideration’ campaign for the highly successful superhero blockbuster, that takes in eleven categories including Best Director for Joe and Anthony Russo and Best Adapted Screenplay.
It is nice to see that the studio has faith in it’s blockbuster. As much as fans and critics enjoy the Infinity War, we do not expect it to win any of the major categories. However being nominated would be a big step in the right direction for the Academy in recognizing more blockbuster films in major categories. That said, we do expect the film can win the technical categories. Which would still be huge win for the studio.
Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers Infinity War stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Don Cheadle, Tom Holland, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Josh Brolin and Chris Pratt.
Avengers: Infinity War is available to on DVD/Blu-ray and digital download. Avengers 4 is set to hit theaters on May 3, 2019.
