It was first reported by TheWrap that Andy Serkis (Black Panther, Star Wars: The Last Jedi) was being tapped to play the role of Alfred Pennyworth in The Batman movie from writer/director Matt Reeves.
Well, Matt Reeves has made it official as he tweeted a confirmation as he has with other cast members.

Jayme Lawson was also reportedly added to the cast in an undisclosed role.
The cast so far includes Robert Pattinson (The Lighthouse, Tenet) as Bruce Wayne aka Batman, Zoe Kravitz (Mad Max: Fury Road, X-Men: First Class) as Selina Kyle aka Catwoman, Jeffrey Wright (Westworld, No Time To Die) as Police Commissioner Jim Gordon, Paul Dano (Looper, There Will Be Blood, Prisoners) as Edward Nashton aka The Riddler, and Colin Farrell (Fantastic Beasts & Where To Find Them, The Lobster, Miami Vice) as Oswald Cobblepot aka The Penguin.
One of the other big roles yet to be filled is that of Harvey Dent aka Two-Face.
Filming is said to be kicking-off next year at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in Watford, England.
Serkis will be directing Venom 2 starring Tom Hardy and luckily both productions will be filming at the same facility in Watford, England.
The Batman is set to be released on June 25th, 2021.
