Fast and Furious 9 is well into production in England, but HN Entertainment has been able to confirm another crew addition. As visual effects supervisor Peter Chiang has joined the team and had worked with director Justin Lin previously on Star Trek Beyond.

Peter’s other credits include Pacific Rim: Uprising, Godzilla, Total Recall, John Carter, Green Zone, The Bourne Ultimatum, Pitch Black, and Enemy At The Gates.

I’m slightly curious if this teases that chatter of the next two movies possibly going into space since Peter has a bunch of experience with the science fiction genre.

The cast consists of Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson, Helen Mirren, Charlize Theron, John Cena, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Finn Cole, Anna Sawai, and Vinnie Bennett.

There is a slim chance that veteran actor Michael Caine might join too.

Dwayne Johnson announced at Sundance to MTVNews that he will be sitting out of this installment, there isn’t any word if Jason Statham will be back either. The pair are expected to make a return for a sequel to Hobbs and Shaw if the film is a big box office success as projections have suggested.

Universal Pictures has set the film’s release date for May 22nd, 2020.
