Variety reports that DeWanda Wise (She’s Gotta Have It) has landed a leading role in Universal/Amblin’s Jurassic World 3.
DeWanda Wise, best known for her breakout role in Netflix’s “She’s Gotta Have It,” has landed a leading role in the third installment of Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment’s “Jurassic World” saga.
You might remember that Wise was originally cast as Maria Rambeau in Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel before having to exit.
HN Entertainment has confirmed that production will be taking place at Pinewood Studios UK and might be using the working title of Arcadia during the England shoot.
Director Colin Trevorrow co-wrote the script with Emily Carmichael, the pair previously worked together on the short film Battle of Big Rock.
The cast includes Chris Pratt (Guardians of The Galaxy, Avengers: Infinity War), Bryce Dallas Howard (Black Mirror, Spider-Man 3), Sam Neill (Jurassic Park, Event Horizon, Thor: Ragnarok), Laura Dern (Jurassic Park, Star Wars: The Last Jedi), Jeff Goldblum (Thor: Ragnarok, The Grand Budapest Hotel), and the newest addition Mamoudou Athie (Underwater, The Circle) reportedly taking a lead role.
Universal has given Jurassic World 3 a release date of June 10th, 2021.
The short takes place one year after the events of the last Jurassic World film in Big Rock National Park, where dinosaurs are now living in our world. The story follows a family of four whose encounter with these wild animals becomes a terrifying fight for survival.
