Destin Daniel Cretton’s ‘Shang-Chi’ Reportedly Filming After ‘Eternals’ and James Gunn To Begin Shooting ‘Guardians of The Galaxy 3’ In

It looks like we have some idea when some of the other Phase 4 movies will be filming as TheHollywoodReporter reveals that Destin Daniel Cretton’s Shang-Chi will begin production after Chloe Zhao The Eternals. Adding that James Gunn’s Guardians of The Galaxy 3 will begin shooting in 2020, not 2021 as previously rumored.

Then there are new additions to the cinematic universe such as Eternals, which will be led by Angelina Jolie and start shooting this year, and Shang-Chi, centered on an Asian hero yet to be cast that will shoot after Eternals. And Guardians of the Galaxy 3 is planned for a 2020 shoot — the current five stars are expected to reunite — with James Gunn back in the saddle as director.

Black Widow will begin filming this June at Pinewood Studios UK and Eternals begins filming this September in the United Kingdom as well, which means Shang-Chi would shoot in 2020 and likely could start before Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther 2/Scott Derrickson’s Doctor Strange 2.

On the James Gunn side of things, I would imagine that late 2020 is where I would expect Guardians 3 to begin shooting given that The Suicide Squad would need a year to complete from when it begins production.

According to Kevin Feige, Spider-Man: Far From Home will be the final film in Phase 3 before jumping into Phase 4 with Black Widow potentially.

Shang-Chi and Guardians of The Galaxy 3 are currently without release dates as are all Phase 4 movies.
