Deadline has given an update on the Skydance film Red Notice starring Dwayne Johnson and Gal Gadot, as Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds has reportedly joined the cast of the action film. The flick is also moving from Universal Pictures to Netflix.
The film is a globetrotting action heist thriller that moves from Universal Pictures and has added Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool,Free Guy and 6 Underground) to star alongside Dwayne Johnson (Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw and Jumanji: The Next Level) and Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman 1984 and Death On The Nile).
Ryan isn’t a stranger to working with Skydance or Netflix, as Ryan recently teamed-up with them for the action film 6 Underground directed by Michael Bay.
Filming is reportedly starting next year which is likely because Gal Gadot is expected to shoot Fox’s Death On The Nile in September. The new production start would suggest that Red Notice will bump Black Adam’s start into later in 2020.
Dwayne Johnson made it official as he confirmed the news on Instagram.
Ryan Reynolds is also expected to have a role in the romantic comedy Shotgun Wedding and Detective Pikachu 2.
Some of the filming locations are said to be in London and Italy. I would assume more could be added once they start scouting other cities/countries.
This would likely mean Red Notice won’t be released until late 2020 or early 2021.
