Deadline is reporting that 87North and STX will be teaming up for a new action-thriller titled Fast & Loose. The new film is penned brothers Jon and Erich Hoeber, who previously penned Red, Red 2, and The Meg. A director hasn’t been named in the report.
Fast & Loose follows a man who wakes up in Tijuana after being left for dead with absolutely no memory. As he follows a string of clues to uncover his identity, he discovers that he’s been living two different lives: one, as a super-successful Crime Kingpin, surrounded by beautiful women, expensive toys and a lavish lifestyle, and the other as an undercover CIA agent, but with a puny salary, no family or home life whatsoever and zero trappings of success. The problem is, he can’t remember which of these two personas is his true identity.
87North is the production company headed up by action film husband-and-wife producing team of David Leitch and Kelly McCormick. The pair also has a first-look deal with Universal Pictures after directing the Fast & Furious spinoff, Hobbs & Shaw.
David is best known for directing Atomic Blonde, Deadpool 2, and co-directing the original John Wick film alongside Chad Stahelski. Other projects Leitch is involved with include a feature film reboot of the series Kung Fu and a remake of the classic Warner Bros. spy martial arts flick Enter The Dragon that starred the legendary Bruce Lee.
