It was recently reported that The Girl In The Spider’s Web screenwriter Jay Basu will be tackling a new draft of Universal Pictures’ Battlestar Galactica movie that has Francis Lawrence attached to direct.
We have our own news about the project.
HN Entertainment has learned that eight-time Oscar-nominated composer James Newton Howard is most likely to reunite with Lawrence for the science fiction action film. James has consistently worked with director Francis Lawrence as the two has collaborated on films such as I Am Legend, Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Hunger Games: Mockingjay 1-2, Water For Elephants, and Red Sparrow.
His other credits include The Dark Knight, Green Lantern, Nightcrawler, The Hunger Games, Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, King Kong, Blood Diamond, Batman Begins, and Collateral.
The story of how the Twelve Colonies of Mankind are destroyed after 1,000 years of war with the evil Cylon Empire. Through deceit, the Cylons are able to destroy the Colonies’ entire fleet, except for the Battlestar Galactica, captained by Commander Adama.
Considering the working relationship between Francis Lawrence and Jennifer Lawrence, I’m curious if Universal will be trying to get the Oscar-winning actress a lead role.
Universal Pictures has yet to set a release date for Battlestar Galactica.
