Mexican-American action star Danny Trejo has announced via his official Twitter account that he’ll voice Boots the monkey in Paramount’s live-action Dora The Explorer movie which has been revealed to be titled Dora and The Lost City of Gold, taking an obvious cue from the Indiana Jones movies.

Danny is best known for his mature action films but has done material for younger audiences with playing Uncle Machete in the Spy Kids franchise.
The film stars Isabela Moner (Transformers: The Last Knight, Sicario: Day of Soldado) as the titular Dora The Explorer and is expected to be aimed towards an older audience than the cartoon series.
Having spent most of her life exploring the jungle with her parents, nothing could prepare Dora (Isabela Moner) for her most dangerous adventure ever – High School. Always the explorer, Dora quickly finds herself leading Boots (her best friend, a monkey), Diego (Jeffrey Wahlberg), a mysterious jungle inhabitant (Eugenio Derbez), and a ragtag group of teens on a live-action adventure to save her parents (Eva Longoria, Michael Peña) and solve the impossible mystery behind a lost city of gold.
A trailer is coming very soon.
Production took place at Gold Coast, Australia at Village Roadshow Studios where recent films such as Thor: Ragnarok, Aquaman, Pirates of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, and Godzilla vs Kong have shot.
Paramount Pictures has given Dora and The Lost City of Gold a release date on August 2nd.
The studio also recently dropped two promotional posters for the film.
