Director Guy Ritchie is finally making a return to his crime genre roots with Toff Guys. And there is another lovely casting addition named.
According to TheHollywoodReporter Colin Farrell has joined the slowly growing cast of Guy Ritchie’s crime flick Toff Guys. Colin’s character is named Coach and will be an MMA trainer. I’m slightly curious if he’ll be using his natural Irish accent.
It was recently revealed that Kate Beckinsale had to exit her role and it has since been given to Downton Abbey star Michelle Dockery.
They’ve dropped character details for other roles as well. Dockery is playing the wife of Matthew McConaughey’s businessman and Henry Golding is playing a Vietnamese gangster. Of course, Hugh Grant was previously revealed as a celebrity photographer and they’ve added that he will try to blackmail McConaughey.
The Toff story sees McConaughey as a businessman who has built a weed empire and now wants out; the other characters are either complications or helpful to his scheme. Dockery is the man’s wife, while Golding will play a Vietnamese gangster. Grant is a photographer who snaps scandalous photos of our protagonist and schemes to blackmail him.
Farrell will play a character named Coach, a man who trains MMA fighters.
Also adding that Jeremy Strong has joined the cast.
The script was penned by Guy Ritchie, Marn Davies, and Ivan Atkinson.
Production is underway in London.
A release date has yet to be made official but it’s expected to drop in 2019 or early 2020.
