Rian Johnson’s (Looper, Star Wars: The Last Jedi) next project is a murder mystery titled Knives Out starring Daniel Craig and the cast is rounding out quite nicely.
Here is a rundown of the most recent wave of casting news for the thriller.
TheHollywoodReporter revealed earlier in the week that Oscar-winner Christopher Plummer will reunite with his The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo co-star, taking a role in the Daniel Craig film. They also mention more recently that Avengers 4 and 13 Reason Why actress Katherine Langford has taken an undisclosed role in the crime thriller as well.
Deadline has a new report with three other additions to Knives Out that includes Riki Lindhome, Edi Patterson, and Raúl Castillo.
ComicBookMovie was the first to reveal that IT and IT: Chapter 2 actor Jaeden Lieberher has been added too.
The rest of the stellar cast consists of Chris Evans, Lakeith Stanfield, Michael Shannon, Don Johnson, Jamie Lee Curtis, Toni Collette, and Ana de Armas.
Details on Knives Out are limited, but the film is said to focus on a detective played by Daniel Craig looking to solve a string of murders. It certainly is giving me the vibes of a David Fincher crime flick, and the excellent casting might reflect the strong material that Johnson has on his hands here.
Production is underway taking place in Boston and the United Kingdom.
Rian Johnson is expected to kick-off his new/original Star Wars film trilogy for Lucasfilm once things wrap on this project first. Those Star Wars movies are still only in the very early development phases at the moment.
A release date for Knives Out has yet to be made official.
