Filming on Netflix’s action film Dhaka produced by the Russo Brothers began principal photography earlier this month in Thailand and we can now reveal some interesting crew members attached to the project starring Thor’s Chris Hemsworth and Stranger Things’ David Harbour.
In an underworld of weapons dealers and traffickers, a young boy becomes the pawn in a war between notorious drug lords. Trapped by kidnappers inside one of the world’s most impenetrable cities, his rescue beckons the unparalleled skill of a mercenary named Tyler Rake. But Rake is a broken man with nothing to lose, harboring a death wish that makes an already deadly mission near impossible.
HN Entertainment has learned that District 9 and Elysium production designer Phil Ivey has joined the film. Ivey at one point had been attached to be the production designer on Neill Blomkamp’s now abandoned Alien 5 film.
Another tidbit we have is that Henry Jackman will be composing the film’s score. Jackman’s credits include X-Men: First Class, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Kingsman: The Secret Service, Kick-Ass, and Kong: Skull Island.
Cinematographer Newton Thomas Sigel has previously been revealed for the film, whose credits mostly consist of the X-Men films which include X-Men, X-Men 2, X-Men: Days of Future Past, and X-Men: Apocalypse. His other credits are Superman Returns and The Usual Suspects.
Production will complete in February.
Netflix has yet to announce an official release date for Dhaka.
