Our pals at ThatHashtagShow have revealed the shortlist of actors Sony Pictures is considering to pair up with Tom Holland’s Nathan Drake for their Uncharted movie. The role being Sully those actors said to be on the studio shortlist include Chris Hemsworth, Chris Pine, Matthew McConaughey, and Woody Harrelson.
They also add that filming could begin this July.
For the character of Sully, the studio is looking for a Caucasian male, 40-49. The impressive shortlist for the Uncharted character features some of Hollywood’s current, big-ticket, lead actors. Among them is Holland’s Avengers: Infinity War (and Endgame?) co-star Chris Hemsworth. Joining him on the “Interest” list are also Matthew McConaughey, Wonder Woman 1984’s Chris Pine, and Woody Harrelson.
Regardless of whoever plays the Uncharted scoundrel, we’re sure to learn who Sony-Columbia casts as Sully soon. Production for the film is slated to begin in July 2019.
I can confirm this shortlist, as I’ve seen these names mentioned for the role of Sully before.
Keep in mind, they were also the first to reveal that Tom Holland was going to play Nathan Drake.
Interesting note, that Hemsworth helped Tom Holland get his Spider-Man gig as the two actors previously worked on Ron Howard’s In The Heart of The Sea before Tom landed the Spider-Man role. Sony is also keen on Hemsworth after hiring him for Ghostbusters and Men In Black: International. If I was placing bets on these names, I’d put my money on Chris Hemsworth.
10 Cloverfield director Dan Trachtenberg was recently hired to replace former director Shawn Levy, who exited to make Fox’s Free Guy instead.
