Variety reports that we’ll be getting a Children of Men reunion on the Apple TV+ series Lisey’s Story based on the 2006 Stephen King novel. British actor Clive Owen has joined Oscar-winner Julianne Moore on the series taking the role of Scott Landon, the husband of Moore’s Lisey.
The actor will star alongside Julianne Moore in the tech giant’s “Lisey’s Story,” an eight-episode series based on Stephen King’s 2006 book of the same name.
Owen will play the role of Scott Landon, Lisey’s (Moore) husband. The series follows Lisey two years following Scott’s death, exploring the events that cause her to begin facing amazing realities about her husband that she had repressed and forgotten.
King will write and executive produce the eight episodes with J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot and Warner Bros. Television handling production for Apple.
Stephen King material has been getting quite the revival lately with the two IT movies along with multiple movies/shows in development such as the CBS All Access series The Stand currently shooting in Vancouver.
Children of Men had a shocking fate for Moore’s character and is considered a recent gem of the modern science fiction genre.
Clive plays the main villain in Paramount Picture’s action flick Gemini Man starring Will Smith which is opening this weekend.
Apple TV+ making a deal with Warner Bros. Television and Bad Robot is certainly interesting with HBO Max, WarnerMedia’s own streaming service on the horizon.
