‘Captain Marvel’ May Reach An Impressive $750M This Weekend At Global Box Office

You might remember our recent preview box office rundown for Captain Marvel’s second weekend suggesting that the film could cross the $700-800 million mark by next week at the worldwide box office and Forbes has now released some impressive global numbers that point to Captain Marvel potentially earning $750 million by tomorrow.

…the film has passed $600m worldwide as of yesterday and may crack $700m today and pass $750m global tomorrow.

It does now look like Captain Marvel is on the path to a billion dollars.

The film is also still looking at $70 million on the domestic side of things this weekend and had recently helped push the total Marvel Cinematic Universe earning past $18 billion.

Brie Larson will next be seen as Carol Danvers in Avengers: Endgame on April 26th and while it hasn’t been made official there is an expectation Marvel Studios will announce a Captain Marvel sequel in the near future. The character certainly has a global appeal and will likely become a key focus of Phase 4 as Endgame will close-out Phase 3.

Phase 4 will be launched with Spider-Man: Far From Home, the other announced releases include Cate Shortland’s Black Widow, Chloe Zhao’s The Eternals, Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther 2, Scott Derrickson’s Doctor Strange 2, and James Gunn’s recent return to Marvel Studios to complete his work on Guardians of The Galaxy 3.

Captain Marvel is an extraterrestrial Kree warrior who finds herself caught in the middle of an intergalactic battle between her people and the Skrulls. Living on Earth in 1995, she keeps having recurring memories of another life as U.S. Air Force pilot Carol Danvers. With help from Nick Fury, Captain Marvel tries to uncover the secrets of her past while harnessing her special superpowers to end the war with the evil Skrulls.
