It looks like Captain Marvel is gearing up to become another massive hit for Marvel Studios at the Box Office.
According to Box Office Pro, the film could open anywhere between $140M and $180M at the weekend box office. That would make it the second-best solo franchise debut in Marvel Studios history. Just behind Black Panther, which grossed $202M last year.
Box Office Pro is currently predicting an opening right in the middle of the long-range tracking at $160M. However, this is not industry tracking, as those numbers come out three weeks in advance of a films release. Box Office Pro’s long-range tracking does tend to trend upward. Captain Marveljust had the third-best first day in Fandango ticket presales in Marvel Studios history.
