HN Entertainment has learned that cinematographer Shelly Johnson has joined the production team of Bill and Ted Face The Music, the third film starring Alex Winter (The Lost Boys) and Keanu Reeves (John Wick, The Matrix).
Johnson’s credits include Captain America: The First Avenger, Jurassic Park III, The Wolfman, The Expendables 2, and the upcoming Tom Hanks WWII naval film Greyhound.
In the third installment, Bill and Ted are visited by a time-traveler that seeks a song from them that will save humanity in the future. With the help of their young daughters, they aim to create this life-saving song after a long absence from their teen rockstar aspirations.
Brigette Lundy-Paine and Samantha Weaving were recently announced for the role of the daughters Billie Logan and Thea Preston. Also, Kid Cudi has been revealed by TheHollywoodReporter as having a role as well.
Bill and Ted Face The Music will be directed by Galaxy Quest’s Dean Parisot.
I’m extremely curious to see how the film will live up the previous two installments Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure/Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey, the latter I remember seeing in the theater as a kid along with having fond memories since it was simply just bonkers.
Alex Winter announced today on Twitter that filming has begun.
Just got to location to shoot @BillandTed3. Making movies is a miraculous gig, but it's also stressful & fairly nuts. Good to be here with @ed_solomon, our great director & producer, many folks I've known most of my life. We're family, and that makes this all the more special.

Orion Pictures has set the film’s release date for August 21st, 2020.
