Another DLC character for Mortal Kombat has been confirmed.
Last week, IGN got an email from WB Games and Netherrealm Studios that included a copyright mention for Army of Darkness era Ash alongside Terminator: Dark Fate and Spawn, which would officially confirm that Ash is coming as a DLC fighter.
We have to assume that actor Bruce Campbell would be returning to the role and do the voice work for the digital version of his iconic horror-comedy character.
Campbell played Ash in Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead, Evil Dead II, Army of Darkness, and the series Ash vs Evil Dead.
This wouldn’t be the first time Ash appeared in a video game as he had a string of games such as titles like Evil Dead: Hail To The King in 2000, Evil Dead: A Fistful of Boomstick in 2003, Evil Dead: Regeneration in 2005, and Army of Darkness: Defense in 2011.
Some of the other non-Kombat DLC characters include Spawn voiced by Keith David (played the character in the animated HBO series) and The Terminator from Terminator: Dark Fate.
We would recommend checking out the Evil Dead movies if you haven’t checked them out before as Bruce Campbell in the last two movies is just hilarious, the original movie skews more horror than comedy and Evil Dead II is essentially a soft-reboot of the first one.
ARMY OF DARKNESS: Ash is transported back to medieval days, where he is captured by the dreaded Lord Arthur. Aided by the deadly chainsaw that has become his only friend, Ash is sent on a perilous mission to recover the Book of the Dead, a powerful tome that gives its owner the power to summon an army of ghouls.
