Variety reports that British actress Sophia Di Martino is in talks to join Tom Hiddleston in his time traveling Marvel Studios series Loki in an undisclosed role.
“Yesterday’s” Sophia Di Martino is in talks to join Tom Hiddleston in Disney Plus and Marvel’s “Loki” limited series. Hiddleston is reprising the role of the antihero with “Sex Education” and “Daybreak” director Kate Herron helming the series. “Rick & Morty” scribe Michael Waldron penned the pilot and will act as show creator and exec produce the series.
The series will follow the God of Mischief as he travels throughout human history with the Tesseract after disappearing with the cosmic item during the events of Avengers: Endgame.
Filming on Loki said to begin in early 2020.
Kate Herron (Sex Education, Daybreak) is directing the series.
Like with WandaVision, Marvel’s Kevin Feige has revealed that the series will have a connection to Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness (releases May 7th, 2020).
I’m slightly curious if Sophia’s role will carry over to the Doctor Strange sequel.
Speaking of WandaVision, it’s currently filming along with The Falcon & The Winter Soldier as Marvel Studios looks to quickly knock-out these Disney+ shows.
Other shows expected to shoot next year include Moon Knight, She-Hulk, and Ms. Marvel as casting is underway to find those brand new leads. Feige also confirmed recently those characters will officially be making the jump from the shows to the films.
Loki doesn’t have a specific release date but they’re aiming to have it ready in the spring of 2021.
