The critically acclaimed AMC series Breaking Bad is getting a movie. Vince Gilligan the creator behind the series and its spinoff series Better Call Saul is set to write, produce, and possibly direct.

According to the Albuquerque Journal, Production is expected to begin in the next couple of weeks and is expected to wrap sometime in February 2019. The film, which will shoot under the title “Greenbier” will take place in New Mexico. According to Variety, the film will have ties to the original series as well as Better Call Saul.

New Mexico State Film Office Director Nick Maniatis had this to say in a statement:

“We are happy to welcome ‘Greenbrier’ and Sony Studios to New Mexico. For years we’ve built up the film industry in New Mexico and strengthened our film incentives, now we’re seeing success after success for the film industry in our state.”

Details on the film are being kept under wraps. However a logline describes Greenbriar as the story of a kidnapped man’s escape and his journey to freedom. It is not known if this will be a theatrical release or an AMC/television release.
