Incredibles and Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol director Brad Bird has taken to Twitter over the weekend to reaffirm his stance that he doesn’t plan on directing Marvel’s Fantastic Four film.

Something we had assumed since he’s pretty much tackled that with the two Incredibles movies for Pixar.

I can totally understand where fans are coming from that are highly vocal about Bird making the reboot, as they can clearly see with his animation work he’s pretty much been able to present he’s capable of working within the superhero genre to flush out character moments.

It’ll be interesting who Kevin Feige ultimately picks for the job.

Officially, we don’t know when they’ll attempt to pursue a Fantastic Four film as the only tidbit from Marvel we have to go by is a brief shoutout made by Feige at the San Diego Comic-Con.

Although, it could easily happen before the main X-Men film as Kevin Feige has suggested a long wait for that one. Given there is less baggage with audiences with rebooting The Fantastic Four it would make sense to tackle that first.

There had been a rumor previously posted by our pals at GWW that Ant-Man director Peyton Reed is working on a Fantastic Four film, something he’s been trying to get done for years. However, that has yet to be confirmed.

Vice writer/director Adam McKay had revealed an interest in making a Silver Surfer movie (suggesting he wanted to meet with Marvel Studios) and backed-up chatter from MCUCosmic that a Nova movie was being talked about as well.

Hopefully, we won’t have to wait terribly long before they announce their plans for Marvel’s first family.
