This morning EON/MGM have finally launched the first trailer for Bond 25 aka No Time To Die while promoting the film on ABC’s Good Morning America.

Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.

You can check out that brand new trailer just below.

The cast will include Daniel Craig as James Bond, Lea Seydoux as Madeleine Swann, Rami Malek (Bohemian Rapsody) as a new villain name Safin, Jeffrey Wright (Westworld) as Felix Leiter, Ralph Fiennes (The King’s Man) as M, Naomie Harris as Moneypenny, Lashana Lynch (Captain Marvel) as Nomi aka the new Agent 007, Ana de Armas (Blade Runner 2049) as Paloma, Ben Whishaw as Q, Billy Magnussen, Rory Kinnear as Bill Tanner, David Dencik, and Dali Benssalah.

Spectre’s Christoph Waltz is also coming back as the notorious villain Blofeld.

Here are a couple of things we noticed in the trailer.

James Bond is brought back out of retirement and is being pursued in Italy while driving a classic Aston Martin with Madeleine Swann with him. Surrounded, the headlights open to reveal a pair of miniguns and fire upon the group of henchmen. I wouldn’t be terribly shocked if this was the opening action sequence of the film.
Rami Malek’s new villain Safin has facial scars or has some of disease (biological warfare?).
Christoph Waltz returns as Blofeld, the leader of Spectre. He has been captured by MI6 and he begins to place doubts in Bond’s head about Madeleine Swann’s intentions. There are hints that Safin and Swann are directly connected in some way.
Lashana Lynch’s Nomi is revealed to have been an MI6 field agent with 00 status for two years and is eventually partnered up with Bond. She has apparently taken over the 007 codename after James’ retirement. The two first meet up in Jamaica after James speaks with Felix at a club.
This is most likely Rami Malek’s Safin under the mask given the jawline and seems to be in pursuit of Bond in Norway.

Beast of No Nation and True Detective season one director Cary Joji Fukanaga took over directing duties from Danny Boyle after creative differences during the development of the script.

Filming took place in Jamaica, London/Pinewood Studios UK, Norway, and Italy.

Bond 25 is said to be the end of Daniel Craig’s tenure as James Bond and a new actor will be taking over the part in Bond 26 (script rumored to be in the works from No Time To Die co-writer Phoebe Waller-Bridge).

It remains to be seen when Bond 26 will be put into production and who will ultimately take over the role of James Bond for the next era of the franchise.

No Time To Die is set for release on April 8th, 2020.
