It was just officially revealed that Bond 25 would be moving from a February 14th, 2020 release date to April 8th, 2020.
Now, there is a report from ThePlaylist that Bond 25’s script will be undergoing rewrites from Scott Z. Burns. A screenwriter that is best known for Matt Damon’s The Bourne Ultimatum along with writing for Steven Soderbergh movies Contagion, The Informant!, Side Effects, and The Laundromat.
Sources close to the project tell us that Scott Z. Burns, the writer of “The Bourne Ultimatum,” “Contagion,” Steven Soderbergh’s upcoming heavyweight A-list ensemble drama “The Laundromat” and Academy Award-winning producer of “An Inconvenient Truth,” has been hired to rewrite the ‘Bond 25’ script by Neal Purvis and Robert Wade. It’s an overhaul and I won’t be surprised if Burns is ultimately given first screenplay credit.
It’s possible they maybe wanted to infuse some more action beats or beef it up as they point out that some script doctoring isn’t terribly new for Hollywood.
Cary Joji Fukunaga will be directing after replacing Danny Boyle, who exited over creative differences. Confirmed to be returning alongside Daniel Craig as James Bond in his final outing as 007 includes Lea Seydoux as Madeleine Swann, Ralph Fiennes as M, Naomie Harris as Eve Moneypenny, and Ben Whishaw as Q.
Filming is set to take place at Pinewood Studios UK along with reports that suggest they could be shooting in Norway as well.
