‘Black Widow’ Topps Cards Give Us The Best Look At Taskmaster & Yelena’s Costumes

Black Widow is going to be the first big Marvel movie release in 2020 alongside Eternals, 20th Century’s smaller The New Mutants and the Spider-Man spinoffs from Sony Pictures that includes Venom 2 and Morbius.

Outside of some concept art from last year, we now finally have a decent look at Taskmaster’s costume from the film thanks to a handful of Topps collectable cards for the film that have made their way online.

We also get solid images of Natasha’s new Black Widow costume and Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova.

In Marvel Studios’ action-packed spy thriller “Black Widow,” Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow confronts the darker parts of her ledger when a dangerous conspiracy with ties to her past arises. Pursued by a force that will stop at nothing to bring her down, Natasha must deal with her history as a spy and the broken relationships left in her wake long before she became an Avenger.

The film takes place between the events of Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War with Natasha seemingly not getting any help from her fellow Avengers as mentioned by Johansson to GMA last year but wouldn’t officially comment on Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye showing up in it.

During the promotion last July at San Diego Comic-Con, Scarlett revealed to MTVNews and ScreenRant how action heavy the film would be citing Logan and Terminator 2 as inspirations for it.

JOHANSSON: “It’s pretty gritty, it’s kind of in its own genre. Some of the movies we talked about, we talked about The Fugitive, we talked about Logan, we talked about Terminator 2.”

“Oh, yeah. There’s a lot of fighting in this movie. Like, so much fighting. Much more fighting than I think has ever… I think other producers that come onto the set, they’re like, ‘There’s more fighting in this than any other Marvel movie we’ve ever made.’ It’s just brutal. I think because it’s based in reality, all the action is based in reality and it’s a lot of hand-to-hand combat. It’s painful.”

Black Widow will kick-off Marvel’s Phase Four and is set to be released in theaters on May 1st.

The film’s cast includes.

  • Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow
  • Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova aka Black Widow II
  • David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov aka Red Guardian
  • Rachel Weisz aka Melina Vostokoff (aka Iron Maiden in the comics)
  • O.T. Fagbenle as Agent Rick Mason (most likely Anthony Masters aka Taskmaster)
  • William Hurt as Secretary Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross
  • Ray Winstone
