We’ve been rolling out a majority of the production crew for Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) and we have yet another excellent addition to the DC Comics film directed by Cathy Yan.

HN Entertainment has learned that Warner Bros. and Yan have hired production designer K.K. Barrett. His credits are mostly multiple Sofia Coppola and Spike Jonze features including Her, Lost In Translation, Where The Wild Things Are, Being John Malkovich, Adaptation, and Marie Antoinette.

Previously, we first revealed that 87Eleven Action Design would be handling the stunt/fight choreography on the film. Jonathan Eusebio acting as the film’s stunt coordinator with Jon Valera as the fight coordinator. Their combined credits include John Wick, John Wick: Chapter 2, John Wick: Chapter 3, Atomic Blonde, Deadpool2, and Black Panther.

Also, that Captain Marvel and Star Trek Into Darkness art director Kasra Farahani would be working on the look of the film.

Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn will team up with DC Comics heroines Helena Bertinelli aka Huntress (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) and Dinah Lance aka Black Canary (Jurnee Smollett-Bell) to protect youngster Cassandra Cain (Ella Jay Basco) from getting into the clutches of Batman villain Roman Sionis aka Black Mask (Ewan McGregor). Veteran character actress Rosie Prez will also play Gotham Detective Renee Montoya.

Cathy Yan will be directing from a screenplay from Christina Hodson (Bumblebee) and is expected to be aiming for an R-rating.

Production on Birds of Prey will begin mid-January in Los Angeles, California.

Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) is set for release on February 7th, 2020.
