In December, our friends over at GeeksWorldwide revealed very early information concerning the Zombieland sequel Zombieland: Doubletap ahead of the production start in Atlanta, Georgia. They first revealed plans to include Ghostbusters and SNL alumni Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd in the sequel, in an undisclosed way.
Well, HN Entertainment can now support the Bill Murray side of their reporting with our own information and he did indeed shoot something for the movie. However, it remains to be seen if we’ll end up seeing what they shot in the final movie.
Zombieland: Doubletap’s cast includes Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone, Jesse Eisenberg, Abigail Breslin, Luke Wilson, Thomas Middleditch, Rosario Dawson, Zoey Deutch, and Avan Jogia.
The group from the first film will have to deal with various types of new zombies that are harder to kill along with a bunch of fellow survivors.
Director Ruben Fleischer returns with a script penned Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.
Both Bill and Dan are expected to reprise their original Ghostbusters roles in Jason Reitman’s untitled third Ghostbusters movie that will directly connect to the original two movies that were directed by his father Ivan Reitman. Filming on that project is expected to begin next month in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
Sony Pictures has set the release date for Zombieland: Doubletap for October 11th.
